Founded in 2023 by Tim Lockhart and Dan Dease, Crystal Hospitality Systems (CHS) was born out of a desire to bring back a customer-first approach to the point-of-sale (POS) industry. With over 40 years of combined experience in POS and payments, Tim and Dan witnessed a seismic shift in the industry. Over the past 10–15 years, payment processors consolidated POS brands, moving support offshore and leaving restaurant owners without the personalized service they once relied on.

While these changes introduced revolutionary cloud-based technologies, they came at a cost: the loss of local experts who understood the individual needs of businesses. Tim and Dan saw an opportunity to change that. By founding CHS, they set out to provide Florida’s restaurant industry with a modern POS solution backed by old-school service values.

At CHS, we’re not interested in having hundreds of accounts. Instead, our goal is to build strong, lasting relationships with a select number of clients—clients we know on a first-name basis.
